Simple, Free Project Management and Invoicing Tool – Project Bubble

In October i was writing about some open source and free online invoicing systems. Today i found new online project management and invoicing tool called Project Bubble. Project Bubble is a free, simple and fun project management web app for freelance or personal projects.

Project Bubble works great for freelancers who work on their own, becouse it was made from such a freelancer – things are usually best if you do it for yourself…

Becouse the first bubble’s thing is simplicity, id doesnt have a lot of features, it just covers on what you really need:

  • Make some projects
  • Insert some tasks, keep track on billable time
  • Have some companies and contacts
  • Connect all together with invoices

Open source invoicing systems

In our previous post we checked free online invoicing tools, wich are hosted on others servers, so you dont have to deal with hosting yourself.

Now, lets check open source invoicing systems, wich you can put on your pc or server. To do this, you either have to have knowledge or you pay someone to do it for you. This is clearly disandvantage, but there are also some good things in this:

  • You are in control. It sits on your server. Its your data.
  • You never need to trust your invoicing data to anyone else, and you can get it out of the system easily.
  • Its Open source – its your code!
  • If you dont like something, you can change it :)

Free online invoicing tools

If you run a small business or do any freelancing like me, you need a convenient way to send invoices to clients. Sure, you can keep track of all customer information in a spreadsheet, but you can also use an online invoicing tool.

While there is loads of online invoincing tools out there, most of them are not free. They offer a professional commercial invoicing system, but impose strict limitations on their free offering. Such limitations usually manifest themselves in the number of invoices you can send each month, or in the number of clients you can manage, or some other thing. While this is good to try the product before buying, its unusable for serious work.
