The lava lamp effect is an excellent technique to turn the navigation to a flash like animation. Users love it, sometimes they just pause their work and play a little (i did also…), it looks so great.

Here is a great jQuery plugin LavaLamp, wich weights just 700 bytes (minified), and also works great. Use it where its appropiate, i know i will :)
